Week of 2/4

Fundraiser
On Monday students brought home a box and a note about our how our National Honor Society is partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise Pennies for Patients.  The fund raiser begins this week and ends on February 22nd.  Please read the note I sent home to find out all about it.

Homework
Don't forget homework, which includes the reading log and the reading practice, is due each Monday.  Great job to those students who remember every week!

We paused in our discussion about whether or not dogs should work to discuss the origins of football last week.  Students wrote a claim, reason and example about how they felt about football.  Hopefully, we will finish our claims, reasons and examples about dogs this week.

Valentine's Day
Students will have time to exchange Valentines on Thursday, February 14th after lunch.  Students do not have to bring cards; however, if they choose to they must bring a card for everyone.  I will have a class list attached to the email notifying you about the blog.  I will provide time for students to make Valentines envelopes in class for students to put cards in.

Snacks:  I'm looking for fun healthy snacks, if you choose to send sweets please send items the students can take home so they aren't pressured to eat them all at once.
